The Gower Peninsula (Gower) South West Wales was the first area in the UK (1956) to be designated An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Gower is a natural peninsula eight miles at its widest, lingering 18 miles into the Irish and Celtic seas, with the Atlantic beyond. The Bristol Channel flanks the south side and has the second highest and lowest tidal fall in the world (The Bay of Fundy NB Canada being the highest).

Gower is abundant in ancient sites steeped in Celtic mythology and legends, while rich in flora and fauna with breathtaking vistas

Join Howard Middleton-Jones, archaeologist and author of several books on archaeology and local history on an amazing journey of archaeological discovery on this unique Peninsula. Tread where 6th century saints established the first Celtic cells, view the remains of the many iron age hill forts and megalithic monuments, such as King Arthur's Stone, and the famous location of the discovery of the Red lady of Paviland, one of the earliest ritual burial sites, circa 24000 BCE
